 C 20221113  Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time(

MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS POPE FRANCIS

FOR THE FIFTH WORLD DAY OF THE POOR

13 November 2022, Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time)

Reading 1

Mal 3:19-20a

Lo, the day is coming, blazing like an oven,

when all the proud and all evildoers will be stubble,

and the day that is coming will set them on fire,

leaving them neither root nor branch,

says the LORD of hosts.

Reading 2

2 Thes 3:7-12

Brothers and sisters:

You know how one must imitate us.

For we did not act in a disorderly way among you,

nor did we eat food received free from anyone.

In fact, when we were with you,

we instructed you that if anyone was unwilling to work,

neither should that one eat.

We hear that some are conducting themselves among you in a

disorderly way,

by not keeping busy but minding the business of others.

Such people we instruct and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to work quietly

and to eat their own food.

Gospel

Lk 21:5-19

By your perseverance you will secure your lives.

If experts in biology, medicine, and psychology work together for joint research, they can greatly contribute to the happiness of marriage and family and to peace of conscience. - 52, Gaudium et Spes, DOCUMENTS OF THE SECOND VATICAN COUNCIL

The study of humans is called Anthropology. Since I became a priest, I have taught a subject called anthropology in University. It was a comprehensive study of human nature, covering biological, medical, psychological backgrounds and philosophical fields beginning with human origins. Although approaches to biology, medicine, and sociology to humans were also meaningful, psychological approaches were the most interesting to me. It was a great shock to me that men and women were clearly different and that the mysterious providence of why God created men and women. The Catholic Church has already declared that men and women should live without discrimination and respect each other for 2,000 years. However, the argument that men and women should be the same in every way is also rejected. Because men and women are not the same, but equal. Men and women in the Catholic Church are not discriminated against and differ, and they are also distinguished, try to help each other, understand ea...

Confession Holy Mass Counseling and Priests

After the confession and mass were carefully delivered at dawn, I blessed and consulted those who complained of pain. Saint Father John Maria Bianney was willing to listen to the confession and the appeals of believers in Mass and Pain during this hot summer. Listening to people as priests desperately needs patience and God's help. Jesus Christ, the God we confess as Lord, was also willing to listen to the complaints of the sick in pain. The priest as a counselor must listen to the appeals of suffering that believers say. Secularity teaches the art of listening well. Of course, such technology is helpful. But the priest should listen in the way Jesus Christ hears. Today, the head priest, whom I respect, made my educational background, career and contact information in the form of a business card. Believers in the parish, Gangdong-gu district, and Seoul are actively helping me to make confessions and consult with Eucharist at any time. The head priest encouraged me to consult with...
